Good Shepherd
THE GOOD SHEPHERD Paschal candle – the light of our victorious Saviour shines on the faces of all God’s children. The Easter Vigil is truly among the most impressive and beautiful of all Christian liturgical celebrations. For this special event, the 51% beeswax “Good Shepherd” Paschal candle offers its rich symbolism. Included with the candle is a set of five nails with embedded incense grains and year dates. The five wax nails symbolize the five wounds sustained by the Savior in His glorified body.
The sculptured wax process used to manufacture this candle includes molded wax ornamentation which introduces depth and relief. Overlays of blends of translucent colours create beautiful tonal effects. We’ve created liturgical significance and classic beauty in the “Good Shepherd” Paschal candle.
Starting with an artist’s design, the master woodcarver brings the designer’s sketch to life in the form of a one-of-a-kind pear wood masterpiece. Through an intricate time-tested hand molding process, a superb duplicate of the wood carving is cast in specially formulated rich color-infused waxes. After hand finishing, all individual pieces are skillfully applied to the candle.
